Who is the Real John McCain?
October 30, 2008
Rant by Me: Catchy Title, Content Relevent. McCain Struggling and Still BS’ing You.
Yesterday CNN did a peice about McCain and Obama relating to the predictability of their stump speeches, as they overlayed the identical statements made by both candidates in all three debates. This is nothing new, as most Americans only get the message once - if that. In any case it is funny to watch both candidates deliver the same canned statements with almost the same inflection in their voices every time.
More interesting to me is the deliberate message swing of John McCain. Having nowhere else to turn at this point in the campaign and getting his ass handed to him in many battleground states which are traditionally “Red,” McCain has resorted to delivering, in his own way, Barack Obama’s message of change. He actually started the dialogue a few weeks ago, just pointing out “change” as his presidential plan. Now he has resorted to attempting to make Obama look like McCain and in the process trying himself to appear like Obama. Problem is Obama is younger, blacker, and a whole lot smarter than McCain.
And the negative campaigning with outright lies continue to pour in. McCain continuously makes false statements even though he has been corrected by Obama on a number of occasions.
For instance McCain keeps pulling this one out of his ass; “Senator Obama will argue to delay drilling for more oil and gas and against building new nuclear power plants in America.”
John, my friend, listen closely; Like everyone of average intelligence knows we only have 3% of the worlds oil, yet we consume 25% of it. Even short-term drilling wont relieve the pain at the pump or help us through the growing pains of full-scale energy transformation. Additionally, the big oil companies have hundreds of millions of acres leased which they have not drilled yet. They choose not to because it is harder to get to the oil and will cost more to drill there (it isn’t easy to get this oil). B-O-O H-O-O. Furthermore, Obama is not against nuclear power. He has corrected you on this point three times to date.
Another McCain beauty; “Small businesses employ 84 percent of Americans, and we need to support small businesses, not tax them.”
Again, let me do the math for you Johnny; It doesn’t matter if 100% of Americans were employed by small businesses. Obama will not tax small businesses making less than $250,000 per year. And it happens to be 95% of small businesses make less than $250,000 per year. Additionally, Obama will give tax credits to small businesses which help their employees get healthcare. What Obama is proposing is called “Trickle Up” economics. More money distributed to the lower and middle class will equal more consumer spending, equals bigger profits for all businesses.
And for all the spurious claims of hanging out with terrorits, consorting with shady people, and not being forthright with his associations, Mccain should take a long look in the mirror…
Meet McCain friend and indicted politician, Rick Renzi.
