Article from CNN: Guiliani gets tough on Obama in new Robo Call
The commentary from this read in CNN is good enough for me. Rudy Guiliani narrates a new beauty claiming Obama is weak on crime. Take a read, but enjoy the commentary too…
Guiliani: “You need to know that Barack Obama opposes mandatory prison sentences for sex offenders, drug dealers, and murderers,” Giuliani says in the call. “It’s true, I read Obama’s words myself. And recently, congressional liberals introduced a bill to eliminate mandatory prison sentences for violent criminals — trying to give liberal judges the power to decide whether criminals are sent to jail or set free.”
“With priorities like these, we just can’t trust the inexperience and judgment of Barack Obama and his liberal allies.”
I say: Rudy, this is rather misleading. Obama supports eliminating mandatory sentences on non-violent offenses (i.e. drug charges). Get your facts straight, clown.
and the commentary…
Nik: “Is it me or does the McCain/Palin ticket seem so irrelevant now? Obama held a major summit yesterday while the Rick Davis contemplated using Rev. Wright because of John Lewis. Obama is giving policy specifics and solutions. The McCain campaign has useless robocalls. Obama will win as long as the republicans don’t steal the election.”
Mark: “Did Obama have a short relationship with a male midgit in late 90′s??? I have got to know this before I vote!!!”
Vegas: “Poor Rudy, reduced to robo calling. Strong talk from a man who, while mayor of NYC, made it a crime to be homeless and had people arrested for being victims of an economy that left them on the fringes. Him doing these calls for the losing McCain campaign is a comedy of errors!”
Lynn: “Reforming mandatory minimum sentences does not eliminate sending someone to jail. It does, however, give judges the ability to take situations into account which are not entirely black and white and be sure the punishment fits the crime. It also allows for common sense, something the McCain campaign increasingly seems to be lacking.”
Nik, Vegas and Lynn nailed it, my friend Mark made me laugh.
